This fall, I attended the Soccer in the Community event in Avondale, Chicago, hosted by Crossbar and Sidewalk FC. The gathering featured vintage kits, live music, food, merchandise giveaways, and even a lively kickabout.
Favella Football Club’s freestyle skills were on display throughout the day, as a sunny afternoon in Chicago provided the perfect backdrop for the open-air soccer market. Live music from DJ Woodi and delicious food were available, while Stay True Supply offered additional fashion options. I also grabbed a copy of the new +extra time magazine, which I highly recommend!
I took some time to browse through one of the vintage racks on display. The video above is roughly two minutes long and takes you through that rack, item by item. I’ve included the brands, styles, and vintages of each piece in an attempt to further develop a style for showcasing this kind of content on the website.
It’s great to see the roots taking shape with this collective of soccer brands in the city. The combination of soccer culture, music, and fashion continues to be a driving force in building an exciting soccer community in Chicago.
