The Football Boutique brings fashion, art, community, and a deep love of soccer to Los Angeles. Anthony, the creator, took some time to show me around the space he’s built—a true gift to the football community.
The boutique is fittingly located in LA’s Fashion District, just south of downtown. The area is uniquely Los Angeles: home to over 4,000 businesses - mostly independent wholesalers, manufacturers, garment suppliers, accessories vendors, you name it. The ride in has you dodging small forklifts, weaving past street vendors, and navigating a steady stream of shipping trucks. You can smell meats grilling at food stands anchoring Santee Alley, and if you walk far enough, the scent of fresh flowers from the northern floral markets begins to take over.
On a Friday at noon, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s one of the busiest and most vibrant parts of the entire city. It’s calm and chaotic all at once - a reflection of LA itself. The Fashion District is the perfect home for the Football Boutique. Anthony’s mission - to fuse fashion, art, and global football creativity - fits seamlessly into this dynamic setting. The collection he’s curated fully reflects that vision. It is lively and enticing like the surroundings, and if you blink you could miss something.
The kits being produced in-shop are both unique and exciting, grabbing your attention from the moment you walk in. Rare “club and country” collections from around the world line the racks. Then there are the one-of-a-kind kits by independent designers and studios - truly wearable works of art. And beyond the kits, there are literal works of art: multiple foosball tables, curated viewing areas, screens, couches, a café space with an espresso bar, and even a pitch accessible from the alley - typically reserved for weekends, once the forklifts dissipate.
I visited on a quiet afternoon, but even then, as Anthony gave me a quick tour, the energy in the space was noticeable. He’s not only a creator, but in many ways, an incubator for the brands and talents represented in his collection. Through the Football Boutique, Anthony has created more than just a space, he’s built a platform. A way to channel his own creative energy while uplifting others - myself included.
